Home to one of the world’s fastestgrowing populations, South Sudan is seeking to extend the economic and social benefits of oil extraction to its population by strengthening the private sector, building entrepreneurship skills and improving the enabling environment.

From its Youth Enterprise Development and Capacity Building Fund to national oil company Nilepet’s training center, South Sudan is prioritizing the provision of financial support and skills development, in line with plans to expand its energy industry.

The Youth in Energy & Mining Workshops at SSOP 2024 aim to empower and equip the next generation of energy industry professionals by connecting them with training and employment opportunities and forging partnerships with foreign companies in technical training, skill building and knowledge transfer.
